TRAVEL & ADVENTURE

My favorite adventures that have shaped who I am

HI! I’M JAKE PEVERADA

Continue reading to learn more about me, specifically what I like to do in my spare time. From the ocean to the mountains, a connection with nature is something I cherish.

Sailing

After studying abroad in 2013, I found a deep love for meeting new people, and immersing in local cultures. I’ve traveled to over 12 different countries since then, and I have no plans of stopping now. Meeting new people, forming new friendships abroad, and soaking up different ideas and perspectives is something I find vitally important. As Joshua Slocum has said in his memoir Sailing Alone Around the World (which I’m currently reading of course):

“To young men contemplating a voyage I would say go. The tales of rough usage are for the most part exaggerations, as also are the tales of sea danger. To face the elements is, to be sure, no light matter when the sea is in its grandest mood. You must then know the sea, and know that you know it, and not forget that it was made to be sailed over.”

SCUBA Diving

Aside from my passion for historical reenactment, I have always fostered a love for travelling and any outdoor activities; especially on the water. I am an avid sailor, mountain climber, scuba diver, surfer, and more. Below is a picture of me about to jump from a cliff into water.
