DIGITAL MARKETING
I’m on a journey to advance my skills in everything digital
Hi! I’m Jake Peverada
If you’re just stumbling onto this page, I’m Jake Peverada, avid outdoor adventurer, artist, history lover, and digital marketer. You can read more about what I do outside of the office through the navigation bar above. Otherwise, read on to learn about my technical skills and get an up to date glance at my 2021 resume at the bottom.
Content & SEO
I got started in the digital world when I was trying to find a way to get information out to readers, but also try to market some products I felt were worth sharing. Having been such a prolific writer in school, I started blogging and creating “niche websites” in 2014. I did freelance copywriting and SEO for friends and known clients, and started to pull in some traffic myself. I sold products via my Etsy shop and leaned how to rank in Google, Etsy, Ebay, and Amazon. In 2016 I put my webmaster skills to the test and landing a junior SEO role at Flight Centre Travel Group, a global travel company. I helped manage SEO content strategies for 5 different brands, and still going.
Achievements: Google Analytics Certification
PAID ADS
During my time at Flight Centre, I moved through a few different positions, and worked closely alongside several other marketers. I got introduced to PPC pretty early on, and really liked how SEO played the slow and steady game, and how my PPC counterpart played the instant gratification game. Together, our holistic approach kept marketing strategies healthy. Eventually, I moved into a new marketing role; Performance Marketing. I oversaw $60,000+ monthly budgets for Facebook & Instagram Ads, Apple Ads, TikTok & Snapchat Ads. I also worked closely with partners to develop co-op campaigns that utilized email, PPC, paid social, text message, and on-page marketing channels.
Achievements : Optimizely A/B testing Course Certification
WEBSITE MANAGEMENT
In my current role at Flight Centre, I still do quite a bit of marketing. However, I also oversee farm more content and CMS management that I previously have. All in all, I’ve become very comfortable working in e-commerce product loading backends like Ebay, Etsy, and Shopify, and have designed and built websites with more robust CMS’s like WordPress, Drupal, and several home-grown CMS’s. Thought my HTML and CSS are novice, I’m still learning and adding to my repertoire.
